Declaration

film director

“With Tom Williams and Andrew de Lotbinière we’d long harboured a desire to work on a feature film project together, and meeting a young soldier, on location at Salisbury Plain, made us all reflect on the role our armed forces play in keeping us safe. He was seventeen, celebrating his 18th on our set, and then three weeks later he was going to be in Afghanistan. It was quite a shock to me, and it was then that I realised I knew nothing about what life was going to be like for this young lad.”
