East Lake lies by the city of Wuhan, China. Amidst the growing controversy, a police officer is tracking down a man with mental health issues who disappeared near the lake.

Declaration

film director

“‘East Lake is becoming smaller and smaller, but in my memory it is becoming larger and larger.’ A friend wrote these words upon hearing the news that the OCT project, a large leisure development, was being built by the lake. He grew up by the lake, and later after he moved to another city he often thought about the lake as a reference point of his childhood and young adulthood. With a strong affinity for the words he wrote, in this film I try to depict various people’s connections with East Lake.”
