In the near future, Australia’s streets are invaded by gangs of psychopathic criminals who kill, destroy, and fight the few policemen of a special squad. One of these is Max, who has a wife and small son and is in search of illusive peace. Mad Max, played by Mel Gibson and invented by newcomer George Miller: it cost two hundred thousand dollars to make, it brought in about one hundred million dollars, and the saga is still up-to-date. The “Interceptor” in the Italian title is the special car Max drives, a modified Ford Falcon XB GT.
