An environmental conservationist from London moves to Ireland with his wife and infant son to patrol a stretch of forest, which local superstition considers hallowed ground. His presence inevitably stirs up a series of demonic creatures that do not like to be disturbed and have no intention of leaving their home.

Corin Hardy
Corin Hardy (UK) initially came to the attention of the world with his much-awarded animation short, Butterfly. Having premiered this film at Edinburgh, he moved into music videos directing many pieces of work for a diverse range of artists and winning numerous MVA’s and a Rushes Soho Shorts prize as well as many international awards. He was recently selected as a “star or tomorrow” by “Screen International” and has a number of features in development.

“I love horror movies, especially creature-based horror. Monsters excite the hell out of me. I want to make genre films that people want to go see on a Friday night, something that people can recognize and identify with, be scared of and thrilled by, but with a fresh unexpected approach, a new spin. […] I love horror movies from the 1970s and 1980s, Deliverance, Straw Dogs, Alien, Jaws, The Thing, The Fly, The Shining, taking a simple concept – be it a thriller, survival, ghost, human or creature-based threat – playing it straight, intense and emotional, and doing it with a degree of honor, intelligence, and a high level of quality, meticulous detail and photographic beauty. This, in essence, is The Hallow.”
