Mazzamma is a Neapolitan term. Historically, it is used to indicate small-sized fish and, by extension and with a derogatory slant, groups of people who live at the margins of society, as well as an accumulation of valueless things. Pasquale is an unauthorized car-park attendant who has been sentenced to house arrest. He is allowed outside for a few hours every day: during this time, he returns to the piazza where he used to work and visits a storage room full of the junk he has accumulated over his lifetime. [cg]

Declaration
film director
“When I met Pasquale, he told me about his way of making do, the petty crimes and the repression inflicted on him. I thought he was destined to break laws in order to find some space of his own, to knock down a wall and store the things he has accumulated over his life. I decided to make him the dynamic protagonist of an entertaining film which depicts a human condition that is unauthorized and illegitimate, but resists/exists.”
