Declaration

film director

“In April 2008, a murder and dismemberment case happened in Hong Kong. A sixteen-year-old young woman was killed while working as an on-call prostitute. Eerily, before she was killed, she said to her customer (in other words, her killer, a young man aged twenty-four), ‘I really want to die.’ I couldn’t get my mind off it. What would be the meaning and story behind this sentence? She must have meant it when she said it; otherwise her killer would not have taken it seriously. At the same time, why would the killer think that it was spoken from her heart, and decide to respond by actually killing her?”
