Declaration
film director
“Nuova Zita recounts a day spent trawling, as seen from onboard a fishing boat: from the moment it goes out to sea at midnight until it returns around four in the afternoon. The film is shot entirely in 16mm with a Bolex from the 1960s. The movie camera sways with the boat, becoming one and the same with it. The story is constructed along a series of improvised images, like a visual symphony. Thus, each image is conceived with the goal of recreating the atmosphere onboard the Nuova Zita, with its colors, its sounds and its smells.”
