PSYCHO RAMAN
by Anurag Kashyap
Country: India
Year: 2016
Duration: 127'

Raman is a serial killer; he lives in Mumbai and finds his inspiration, as it were, in the deeds of his predecessor, the serial killer Raman Raghav, who was active in India during the 1960s. Besides his obsession with his mentor, he is also quite obsessed with Raghav, a young policeman Raman is trying his hardest to come face to face with. But if the killer isn’t completely normal, the policeman isn’t exactly an example of mental stability, either… [rm]

Declaration

film director

“Making this movie we are not glorifying Raman Raghav. It is in a fictionalised, thriller way where we have woven a story around the things we usually ignore. This movie is not based on a real life character; it is inspired from a character who was in the 1960s. It’s difficult to make a film inspired by a real life character because you are treading a very dangerous line. You have your own sense of responsibility.”
