In 1950s, in the city of Verona, the rivalry between the Montague and Capulet families has degenerated, involving the members of the noble families as well as the sympathizers of the opposing factions. In this precarious equilibrium, young Romeo Montague falls in love with Juliet Capulet, who is engaged to the nobleman Paris. The two try to fulfill their passion for each other despite the hostility of their respective families, leading to a series of tragedies culminating in the death of the young lovers. [rm]

Declaration

film director

“The idea of theatre and film coming together is exciting. For this reason, when one of our shows makes it onto the silver screen it opens the way for a new challenge. We have very experienced teams in both fields, theatre and film: the result – in particular in our exploration of the magic inherent to Shakespeare’s work – should be fascinating.”
