To sixteen-year-old Sam, skateboarding is everything: he spends all his time at the skate park and even confesses his thoughts and fears to his poster of Tony Hawk, the most famous skater ever. But Sam’s real dream is to become the first member of his family to go to university, without repeating the error his mother, his grandfather and his great-grandfather had committed… Meaning, he doesn’t want to become a parent at sixteen. When Sam meets Alice, love enters his life, a love so intense that it distracts him from everything and everybody else. Even skateboarding. But, more new things are in store for poor Sam… [rm]

Andrea Molaioli
Andrea Molaioli debuted in 2007 with The Girl by the Lake; presented at the Venice Film Festival in the Film Critics’ Week section, the movie received the Pasinetti Award and the Isvema Award, and also won various other recognitions, including ten David di Donatello Awards, three Silver Ribbons, and four Golden Ciak Awards. In 2011, he made The Jewel, inspired by the Parmalat bankruptcy; the film participated at numerous international festivals and was nominated for David di Donatello Awards and Silver Ribbons.
