The reconstruction of an adulterous love affair between a man and a woman from the Midwest during the 1960s. An entire liaison recorded on audiotapes, almost as if they were a personal diary. A voyeuristic and complicit, mesmerizing and empathic glance into a private affair discovered long after its time. [rm]

Declaration
film director
“I found the audiotapes through a friend, Albert Stake. He discovered them in a suitcase he bought on eBay. He knew I was thinking of making a film about time that was inspired by a collection. While I was looking around for objects, […] I found a collection of all my old birth control in a little box. It was fascinating unpacking this box, it really did tell a story about sexual politics in a certain period. And I thought this would be an interesting way to build a film.”
