An ordinary family leading an ordinary life. But at a certain point, something goes awry: the pre-adolescent daughter turns into a compulsive liar while the father, tired of the routine, begins to work as a stuntman. The mother, helpless in the face of this change, feels she is neither necessary nor loved. But her need for a normal family is so strong that she tries to reconstruct the lost equilibrium any way she can. [rm]

Lina Luzyte
Lina Luzyte (Vilnius, Lithuania, 1984) studied film directing at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre, where she graduated in 2011. She has been teaching at the Skalvija Film Academy since 2009. That same year, she directed the dramatic short film It Would Be Splendid, Yet, with which she participated at over fifteen international festivals, receiving prizes and recognitions. In 2011, she turned to documentaries with Igrushki. Together For Ever (2016) is her debut feature film.

“Now, as I belong to a generation that ‘refuses to grow up,’ I see myself as an egocentric, workaholic individualist expecting that the relationships should give rather than take, and that starting a family is the last destination when there are no other options left because it’s definitely inconvenient and too time-consuming. And at the same time, I doubt that being single or having a ‘complicated relationship’ status on Facebook is anything but hip or a deliberate choice, but rather an escape depicting one’s inability to balance between me and us. Nevertheless, nowadays people are becoming more and more individualistic but the majority end up having a family. And this paradox interests me greatly.”
