Sixteen-year-old Mina is spending the summer with her father Andrej on the Bojana river, in Montenegro. Lazy and apathetic, Mina displays great disinterest in her surroundings, while her father, a confirmed smoker, might be getting more serious about his girlfriend. To her great annoyance, Mina falls in love with a kite surfer, Saša, who is older than her and engaged to Sonja. A love triangle with no evident consequences but which will leave a deep mark on the adolescent’s universe. [rm]

Tamara Drakulić
(Serbia) studied at Academy of fine arts in Belgrade and attended a master's degree in visual anthropology at faculty of philosophy in Belgrade; she is currently attending a PhD in visual anthropology. Her debut in direction was in 2012 with Swing; later she directed Ocean (2014), presented at the 32nd Torino Film Festival in Wave Selection, and then Wind (2016), in the International Feature Competition al the 34th Torino Film Festival. In Praise of Love (2020) is her latest documentary. She was the author, music editor, and the voice behind independent radio show Ljuljaska, at Novi Radio Beograd.

“I think that film and art should be connected with society and culture. Yet, they must not be directed by it. Individual is the one who should direct the film, and make art. Then, art is the one that should lead society. Therefore I think that although especially as Serbian director I am expected to talk about war and transition, it is crucially important to feel free to experiment with film language in order to make a simple, intimate story as this one, that is giving nothing else or more than my personal view.”
