Christopher Doyle has lived an extraordinary life: after leaving the Australian desert for the ocean, he has voyaged throughout the world, worked as a sailor and a well-digger, and lived in a kibbutz. This adventurous life led him to Taiwan, where, at thirty-two years of age, he picked up a movie camera for the first time and became one of contemporary cinema’s most famous and sought-after directors of photography, collaborating with directors such as Wong Kar-wai, Gus Van Sant, James Ivory and Neil Jordan. In this movie, he sits in front of the camera and tells the story of his life through memories, images and reflections. [rm]
