Country: France, Algeria
Year: 1969
Duration: 127'

The military controls the puppet government of an unspecified country in the Mediterranean. The members of a pacifist left-wing movement are the only ones standing against the dictatorship. While they are organizing a protest, a rumor spreads that someone is going to try to assassinate their leader, a charismatic and determined man who brushes the threat aside and confirms his participation nonetheless. But on the day of the protest, the rumor turns true: a vehicle runs over the politician, who dies shortly thereafter in the hospital. According to the police, the accident was caused by a drunk driver. Clearly a cover up that the prosecutor intends to debunk, but the investigation will open his eyes on the actual state of his country. [rm]
