ANIMAL PENSIVITÉ

ANIMAL PENSIVITÉ
by Christine Baudillon
Country: France
Year: 2017
Duration: 87'

As the seasons progress, the movie delves into the world of animals, from the most familiar to the most savage. An adventure in gazing, Animal pensivité becomes a filmic essay and takes us closer to the bodies of the animals, in search of contact between man and animal – a spark, a tremor, excess – as a true art of personal rediscovery.

Declaration

film director

“I was moved to make this film by the way Rilke’s gaze rests on the animal world without offending it: I wanted to make something in which there would be only animals. No voices, no words, no human faces. I simply wanted to offer to the spectator’s eyes and ears the unique and mysterious sight of the continuity of nature and the total connection that exists between an animal’s body and its surroundings.”
