DIORAMA

by Demetrio Giacomelli
Country: Italy
Year: 2017

The toad, the stork and the swallow. The encounter between man and wild animal in the city. By observing the activity which brings the protagonists of the three stories closer to the animal world, an intimate dimension reveals itself, something which isn’t immediately visible but which has always been present in mankind; something which can only return to its true essence through an otherness.

Declaration

film director

“Diorama is constructed like a fresco, the scenes interpenetrate just like the protagonists do. The voices of the humans become those of the animals and the bodies of the animals become those of the humans. But it is neither metamorphosis nor transformation. They are superimpositions, ghosts, the utopian attempt to delineate a single mind as a matrix of the living being.”
