FIRSTBORN
by Aik Karapetian
Country: Latvia
Year: 2017
Duration: 90'

The married couple Francis and Katrina are going through a difficult moment because they are unable to have children. One day, they become the target of a delinquent who humiliates Katrina and then robs them. To shake off his wife’s accusations that he hadn’t reacted, Francis tracks down the assailant and causes his death during a fight. But Francis is able to prove he wasn’t involved and, shortly afterward, Katrina tells him she is pregnant. But the fact that something isn’t quite right in this apparently happy picture is soon confirmed when an anonymous package arrives.
