REVENGE

Jen is a modern-day Lolita on a romantic getaway with her rich lover. He has invited her to join a traditional hunting trip that he is organizing with two friends of his. Far from civilization, surrounded by the Grand Canyon’s spectacular landscapes, Jen becomes the center of unwanted attention. When the inappropriate advances escalate, the trip takes an unexpected turn.

“Revenge is the story of the sloughing of a woman. […] It was really about symbolizing the sloughing of a certain way women are represented in films: too often viewed as a foil or a sexual object which one undresses or belittles, the film plays at the beginning with this representation which it pushes to its fullest in order to switch it brutally the other way around. The character thus becomes THE strong figure of the film, a female super hero and the driving force of the action.”
