Declaration

film director

“The Story of Stefano hinges on a simple drama, akin to a fairytale or a myth. It describes the bond between a child and the landscape that saw him grow up. The story is told from Stefano’s perspective just before the death of his father. He didn’t see him die, but he still heard it. In this short parable, Stefano gets in touch with a magical, supernatural universe: nature comforts the young hero and gives him the courage to face his destiny. [...] I wanted to make a movie that had seismic strength, where adults are relegated to a marble quarry, a massive and noisy arena, full of machines and dust, a place of sweat and pain. While childhood, instead, is sensorial, sensitive, divinatory, in perfect osmosis with nature.”
