“It is always, our eyes alone, our way of looking at things. Nature alone knows what she means now, and what she had meant in the past.” (J.W. Goethe, Aphorisms on Nature)

Declaration
film director
“In this film, I was able to work on two fields of inquiry that really interest me: archives and landscapes. On one side, Ernst Haeckel’s drawings on forms of art in nature; on the other, my land. I never quite knew what to say whenever someone asked me what I was shooting, so I’d jokingly say that it was a botany film. Come to think of it, that definition is spot-on.”
