VERÃO DANADO

Chico’s summer begins at their country house with his grandparents, in the shade of a lemon tree. But this is only an interlude. His life is now in Lisbon, where he graduated and where he should be looking for a job. Instead, Chico spends lazy afternoons and endless evenings wandering through the city, with drugs and music creating psychedelic moods which continuously postpone the arrival of adulthood.

“I wanted Damned Summer to be the closest possibile to an idea of ensembled life. Jumping from one person to the other, and yet another, and then to a group. Letting people weave into each other and create webs and behave like knitted patterns challenged throughout the shifting contexts. I wanted the experience of watching this film to provoke a sort of an immersive adrenaline rush.”
