Lotus is a young kindergarten teacher. One year earlier, her husband Feng was hit and killed on a pedestrian crossing by a car. The insurance company of the rich couple who caused the accident has awarded Lotus a compensation, but to the woman, there isn’t enough money in the world which can compensate her for her lost love. How much does a life cost? Moved by a desire for revenge, submerged in her memories of the past, Lotus quits her job and begins working as a maid at the home of an upper-class family. She begins to plan how to settle the score with all the well-off people she knows, as she obsessively calculates the acquired value of her husband’s life in terms of money, day after day until the end.

Jie Zhou
Jie Zhou (China, 1983) majored in electronic science and technology in the university and after graduation he studied independently and began to work as a director. He made his debut with the short film Mang (2013), nominated for Best Director at the Short Film Venture Capital Award, and in 2015 directed another short, My Only Farewell. With the project of his first feature film Blue Amber he then won the Best Talent Project at the Shanghai International Film Festival, where the film, once completed, won the Asian New Talent Award Best Cinematography.
