Turo is stuck in a small village in Northern Finland. The only glimpses of light in his life are provided by the Impaled Rektum, an amateur metal band, whose vocalist he is. The young man is trying to overcome his fears by leading his “symphonic postapocalyptic reindeer-grinding Christ-abusing extreme war pagan fennoscandian metal” band to the hottest metal festival of Norway. The journey includes heavy metal, grave robbing, a new drummer from a mental hospital, Viking heaven and an armed conflict between Finland and Norway.

Juuso Laatio
Juuso Laatio has worked on commercials and music videos for almost fifteen years. He is known for creating visually stunning acclaimed artwork and visuals, in both video and photography. A lover of music, beautiful pictures and ridiculous comedies, he finally got to combine his passions in his debut feature film Heavy Trip.

Jukka Vidgren
Jukka Vidgren started his work as a commercial director in early 2000. Since then he has been working with music videos and short films. Notable short films have been Dr. Professor’s Thesis of Evil (2011) which was selected for several international festivals and was part of the opening night at LA Short Fest. Heavy Trip is Vidgren’s debute feature film.

“There are mainly two reasons why we wanted to do this film. The first one is that we think that guys like the band in Heavy Trip deserve their story to be told. […] These guys just might be the last fortress of genuine, uncompromising artistry. The other reason is that we think that there are too few films that make the audience laugh made in Finland. […] This is a film for us who want to laugh our asses off time to time. And there’s a lot of us here in Finland.”
