Virginia White, a young woman bumps into Betty, an old school friend of hers, at the hotel pool where she’s spending the weekend together with her boyfriend, Roger, who invites the girl to join them on a trip to the countryside. Virginia decides to leave the two and, ignoring their warnings, she jumps off the train, determined to spend the night at village which she had spotted in the distance. She reaches the village and discovers that the place is deserted. Virginia beds down in what must have been the local monastery.

Biography

film director

Amando De Ossorio

Amando De Ossorio (A Coruña, Spain, 1918 - Madrid, Spain, 2001), after directing The Black Flag, a short film in 1956, spent the next few years doing documentaries and commercials. Afterwards a few westerns and comedies, in 1969 he moved into horror where he made his mark. In 1971, he came up with the concept of The Blind Dead, a cult of blind, undead templar knights who sucked human blood. The first film, Tombs of the Blind Dead, was successful so three more “Blind Dead” films followed in quick succession. Unfortunately his last horror film, The Sea Serpent (1984), was a disappointment to him due to the low budget special effects, and led him to retire from filmmaking in 1984, at the age of sixty-six.
