Philippe Cote
Philippe Cote (France, 1965-2016) made over thirty films in the timespan between 1998 and 2016, screening his work in film festivals and exhibitions in Paris, throughout France, and around the world. He is a member of the cooperative Etna, an artisan workshop created in 1997, where he works with elements like bodies, matter, light, and color; he uses 16mm film, Super8, and techniques like camera-free cinema, re-shooting over previously used film, and painting on the film itself. In his later years, he oriented his research toward a poetic approach to documentaries.
