OVUNQUE PROTEGGIMI

OVUNQUE PROTEGGIMI
by Bonifacio Angius
Country: Italy
Year: 2018
Duration: 90'

After his regular Saturday evening performance before an unappreciative audience, Alessandro, a fifty-year-old singer, wiles the rest of the night away at the Blu Star Disco. When dawn comes, his mother refuses to give him the money he needs to impress the girls and he blows his top. After wasting his life in front of a slot machine as he drunkenly pontificates from morning to night and hopes for some good luck with scratch-card lottery tickets, he never dreamed that love could come his way once more. In a hospital ward. There, with Francesca and little Antonio, he starts off on his journey toward his last chance.

Declaration

film director

“Ovunque proteggimi wants to expand the beating heart of Alessandro and Francesca and show it to all of humanity, that same humanity which doesn’t notice their existence and desire to live; that same humanity to which they, and we, belong. It’s a losing battle from the start but, just for an instant, it can make me and us feel a bit less alone.”
