James Franco

James Franco (Palo Alto, CA, USA, 1978) studied at UCLA, Columbia University and New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. He performed in several features, including Sam Raimi’s Spider Man trilogy, Gus Van Sant’s Milk, Danny Boyle’s 127 Hours, for which he received an Academy Award nomination, and Harmony Korine’s Spring Breakers. He is also a director, screenwriter, and a producer with his company Rabbit Bandini Productions. His short The Feast of Stephen (2009) won a Teddy Award at the Berlinale. In 2014 he received the Jaeger-LeCoultre Glory to the Filmmaker Award in Venice, and in 2016, with In Dubious Battle, he won the Fondazione Mimmo Rotella Award. In 2018, Franco grabbed another Golden Globe win for The Disaster Artist. The film was screened at 2017 TFF in the section After Hours.
