SUPERMARKET

SUPERMARKET
by Gianluca Abbate
Country: Italy
Year: 2018
Duration: 8'

“I would like you to make yourself comfortable and free your mind from every thought.” This is how the film begins: with an invitation to free your mind and relax while chaos takes form on the screen. An indistinct crowd that doesn’t seem to know where to go; in reality, however, they are all asleep and everyone wants to dream.

Declaration

film director

“Supermarket is the second instalment of the trilogy on contemporary society that started with Panorama in 2014. The long horizontal shot from the previous short that spans across a city without borders comes to a stop to capture up close the people and their gestures immersed in a chaotic fluctuating space.”
