THE BENNY GOODMAN STORY

THE BENNY GOODMAN STORY
by Valentine Davies
Country: USA
Year: 1956
Duration: 116'

The unstoppable rise in the empyrean of the great jazz musicians of Benny Goodman, who – formed with a classic clarinetist training – falls in love with syncopated rhythms, blue notes and free improvisations and consecrates his talent. From the Chicago of the late 1910s the process of formation of a brilliant and virtuoso musician took place, which, starting from small and mediocre orchestras, managed to form his own orchestra and impose his own arrangements. The great success of the public is accompanied by the contrasted love story with Alice, the sister of the patron John Hammond. The final reunification will take place at Carnegie Hall, the temple of lyric music that welcomes Goodman’s jazz with extraordinary ovations.
