From the close-up shot of the hands of the artist’s grandmother, who is slipping into dementia, this video-installation follows her in the rearrangement of objects that her memory has rejected as indicators of a specific life, turning them into unfamiliar, meaningless objects. Some events of this “extreme present” interrupt this intimate operation, such as demonstrations in America, a safari in South Africa, the death of the king of Thailand, and a visit to the controversial Buddhist temple Wat Phra Dhammakaya. Then a series of superatural or technological issues: the serpent-spirit Naga; the drone-spirit Chantri; an oversized rat that has survived the Apocalypse. How do the technologies manage and distil our fragile memories and fickle experiences?
