Romina goes back to her family house after giving birth. Temporarily away from her boyfriend, Ramón’s father, she shelters in the house of her mother, Mónica, unable to take a decision about her partner. There, she finds herself immersed in her mother’s temporality and in her role as a daughter, and tries to clarify what she desires. While visiting Buenos Aires, Romina teaches German, tries to take up her life as a single woman, to connect herself with who she was before being a mother. She wants to know how she was before experiencing the overwhelming love she feels for her son. She needs to understand who she is by going back to her origins and rebuilding part of her family history.

Romina Paula
Romina Paula (Buenos Aires, Argentina, 1979) is a writer, playwright, theater director and actress. She graduated in dramaturgy from the EMAD (Metropolitan School of Dramatic Arts). She has published the novels ¿Vos me querés a mí?, Agosto, and Acá todavía. As a playwright and director, she’s premiered many internationally successful plays. As an actress, she has played parts in several Argentinian films. El Estudiante by Santiago Mitre earned her the Sur Award for Best New Actress. She also starred in Matías Piñeiro’s Todos mienten, as well as La princesa de Francia, which played at the 2015 Chicago International Film Festival. De nuevo otra vez is her first film as a director and screenwriter.

“My intention is to capture Romina in both her roles, as a daughter and as a mother; in this present time, but marked by all those who were there before; at her mother’s house, a place similar to a family museum, crowded with objects from different generations. I am interested in reflecting upon certain situations and sensations linked to motherhood which are not often mentioned for belonging to a more intimate sphere or to a taboo; the taboo that states that everything about motherhood should be beautiful and naïve. It can be quite beautiful, but certainly not naïve. I try to focus on that woman’s individuality and the roles she has to take over: as a girlfriend, as a daughter and as a mother.”
