Ferdinando Cefalù, a Sicilian baron, is in love with Angela, his sixteen-year-old cousin who is in love with him. Declaration

film director

“A director is a guitar on which various arias can be played; they can be cheerful or sad but the resonance is always the same, unless, at a certain point, the soundboard cracks and the guitar no longer plays. But as long as the soundboard is intact, different pieces can be played on the same guitar. I might not agree that I am a typically Italian director; on the contrary, in a certain sense I hope I’m not because I don’t like the defects of Italians, which represent the charm of many truly Italian films.”
