Rosemary and Guy find a place to live in New York, a lovely building which has a few shadows in its past and elderly, friendly, and nosy neighbors. She soon becomes pregnant and he finds a job. Mia Farrow and John Cassavetes in one of Polanski’s most disturbing nightmares, in which witchcraft, insecurity, and frustration combine and modify the features of a familiar world. Rosemary’s body grows and the house reveals nooks and secrets, while the neighbors and Guy take on ambiguous traits. Based on the novel by Ira Levin.
