Albert Maysles
Albert (1926) and David (1932-1987) Maysles were born in Boston, where they graduated in psychology. In 1962 they founded Maysles Film and produced their first documentary, Showman. Together with Charlotte Zwerin they gave impetus to the American school of Direct Cinema, in particular with Salesman (1968).

Charlotte Zwerin began working in television at CBS, moving on to ABC as part of the documentary group, and then to NBC. Her most famous work, produced by Clint Eastwood, was Thelonious Monk: Straight No Chaser.
