Declaration
film director
“Comunisti is a movie that depicts a disorientation, mine and of many others of my generation, who are still halfway between what was recounted to us and what we are living today. It is the story of a political legacy but also, and above all, an emotional one, which my parents left to me inside a box full of family albums and VHS tapes, and which History with a capital H left to this era. Following the chronological line of the communist dream, through public archives and my family's private one, crossing five decades of history, surrounded by the rubble my generation and I find ourselves living in, I try to understand who my parents were before I was born, what that dream was which was so important to them, who they became when I was born, and who we were together.”
