Mariano is devoted to his neighbourhood church and his job as a police inspector. His idol, however, is Maurizio Merli, the lead actor of many Italian police movies in 1970s, so much so that he dresses and hairstyles like him. He often confides in his parish priest, Don Amedeo, who has managed to bring back a few young people among the already few elderly faithful. Meanwhile, Mariano finds himself following the case of a new drug, the CDC. What is behind this racket? Perhaps there is a lead to solve the case...

Simone Marino
(Rome, 1996) graduated in Philosophy at the University La Sapienza in Rome. Since 2019 he has been attending CSC, Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia, admitted thanks to the short Un figlio (2019). He then directed two other shorts, Il dilemma del porcospino (2021) and Il caso è chiuso, andate in pace (2022), the latter presented at the Turin Film Festival. He works as assistant director for Paolo Sorrentino's The New Pope tv series (2020) and as casting assistant for Emanuele Crialese on the set of L’immensità (2022).
