“My Christ doesn't say a word, he keeps his mouth shut and he shuts the mouth of his miserly author. I will never stoop to recounting with a sick mind that which the body has taken away from the mind: meaning. My gestures have deprived the swindling brain of knowledge. The problem here isn't to create meaning, the virtue here lies in the fact that I didn't say what I wanted to say: action rebelled against the suggestions of the old-school mind […] To make a movie about Christ without any production assistance, without the certainty that the movie would be released, without paying anybody, and, above all, without receiving any payment, is an experience that all practicing atheists should impose upon themselves. Shooting began in 2004 and it's still going on. I'd like it to last three years, the same number of years that Christ preached, from thirty to thirty-three years of age. My approach to the figure of the Nazarene is extremely respectful. My son of God doesn't say a word, he doesn't relate to people, his inferiors; he only communicates through devastating screams, the damnation of the human ear. My Christ conducts mankind's ears to eternal damnation.”
Biography

Antonio Rezza
(Novara, 1965) is a stage and film writer, novelist, and performer. Since the early 1990s, he has made numerous works – including five fiction feature films, a documentary, and over thirty shorts for cinema and TV – almost always in collaboration with Flavia Mastrella. The two of them received the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the Venice International Theatre Festival, and the “Rosa d'Oro della Milanesiana” award.
