Declaration
film director
“To me, La copia perfetta isn't only the story of a magical house and its guests; it is, above all, the story of a love that has lost its way. A couple going through a crisis plunges into an absurd world made of allegories and revelations, until they reach the awareness of their own demise. The story is driven by the gaze of the characters: we know everything through their eyes and their sensitivity. The narration yields to a sensorial and a hallucinatory experience, played entirely on the subjectivity of the two protagonists. The house plays a key role in the story: it is the eye that looks and, like a demiurge, recreates its own world, perhaps the perfect one. This project, of a proudly collective nature, was pursued with a very precise idea: to recount a common situation, the end of a love story, deforming the dynamics and the surfaces. In this way, La copia perfetta becomes an open-eyed nightmare where, in the end, the winners are the doubles and the reflections.”
