Lili and Mateo are mother and son who have a profound relationship of mutual dependence. They indulge in their suffocating reality until one of them is diagnosed with a fatal illness. The mere idea of separation causes them to develop their darkest and most toxic version of themselves. In the meantime, a North Korean couple manages to flee the country. When they reach South Korea, they decided to return to the North Korea, affirming that the communist empire is the best place to live.

Eduardo Casanova
(Madrid, Spagna, 1991) ha avuto la sua prima esperienza dietro la macchina da presa all'età di 17 anni, quando ha girato il suo primo cortometraggio: Anxiety. Ha poi continuato a realizzare corti, partecipando a festival nazionali e internazionali e ottenendo ovunque riconoscimenti. Con Eat My Shit (2015) ha vinto il Visual Talent Award e il Best Short Film Award al SXSW Festival di Austin e due anni dopo ha diretto Pieles, il suo primo lungometraggio: il film ha debuttato alla Berlinale ed è stato acquisito da Netflix, dopo aver partecipato a festival come San Sebastián, Tokyo e Malaga e ad aver ricevuto diversi premi e tre nomination ai Goya. All’attività di regista affianca anche quella di attore e di produttore nel campo della pubblicità (Ing, Vogue, Marca).

(Madrid, Spain, 1991) had his first experience behind the camera at the age of 17 when he shot his first short film: Ansiedad. He continued shooting short films which were projected at both national and international festivals earning him considerable recognition. With Eat My Shit he won Visual Talent Award and Best Short Film Award at the SXSW Festival in Austin, and the he directed Pieles, his first full-length feature film. It had its first showing at the Berlinale and was later broadcast on Netflix. The film was also selected in festival such as San Sebastián, Tokyo, and Malaga, receiving several awards and three Goya nominations. He also combines his directorial activities with his work as producer in the field of publicity (Ing, Vogue, Marca), and as an actor.
