MANODOPERA - INTERDIT AUX CHIENS ET AUX ITALIENS
by Alain Ughetto
Piedmont, early 1900s. In the village of Ughettera life is tough and the Ughetto family dreams of a future abroad. Family stories tell about Luigi Ughetto, who crossed the Alps to start a new life in France, forever changing the destiny of the family. His grandson Alain goes back in time to retrace that story, in an affectionate dialogue with his grandmother Cesira.

film director
“It is a story that begins with an ‘I,’ and then slides towards ‘we.’ Poles, Indians, Spaniards... The past is in our DNA. I wanted to tell how in the past times all foreigners were welcomed.”
