In 2016, Marco Pannella, who had been in politics since 1945, the founder of the Radical Party and a warrior in many battles for freedom, decided to make an audio-video recording of the last one hundred days of his life. Marco had three people help him: Matteo Angioli, his assistant for the previous fifteen years; Laura Harth, a radical activist; and Mirella Parachini, his life-long companion. During those days, Silvio Berlusconi, Vasco Rossi, Matteo Renzi, Franco Battiato, Renato Zero, Giorgio Napolitano, the Pope, and many other friends dropped in and were recorded.

Simona Ventura
(Bentivoglio, Bologna, Italy, 1965) began working for the major TV broadcasters (Rai, Mediaset, Sky) and received important audience recognition. As an actress, she has appeared in various movies by Carlo Vanzina, Enrico Oldoini, Neri Parenti, and other Italian and foreign directors. In 2021, she debuted as a director with Le sette giornate di Bergamo, presented at the Venice Film Festival.

“Through the unreleased clips of Marco Pannella's last one hundred days, I wanted to transmit the passion with which he lived his whole life long. The story is divided into five chapters: politics, religion, freedom, love, and life. Each chapter contains an unusual Marco, a Marco I truly discovered only as I wrote and edited this documentary. Before I began, there was a question in my mind: 'Is there a difference between the public Marco, the one dedicated to politics and struggles, and the more intimate Marco?' Today I am convinced that the answer is no.”
