NOI CE LA SIAMO CAVATA
by Giuseppe Marco Albano

Declaration
film director
“I have always been fascinated by child actors, right from a young age, when I watched them at the movies, on the silver screen, or at home on TV, and I saw children my age perform in big movies alongside famous actors. What dreams does a child have if he wants to become an actor? When you become a recognized figure at a young age, in a phase of your life when you aren't yet mature, how do you relate to the outside world? These are the questions I asked myself each time I watched a movie starring children my own age. One of these movies, which also become one of my favorite films, was Io speriamo che me la cavo by the great Lina Wertmüller. Today, we are recounting a story that is new but deeply rooted in that movie we all know almost by heart. With Adriano Pantaleo, who was one of the young actors in the movie, we came up with the idea of recounting one path in particular, thirty years after the movie was released. The path of Vincenzino the ice cream vendor, who today is a 38-year-old man who decides to track down his old companions on the set and have them tell him how they managed.”
