PIER PAOLO PASOLINI - UNA VISIONE NUOVA

Encounters with a series of people whose lives were significantly changed after coming into contact with Pier Paolo Pasolini. Bertolucci was writing poetry when Pasolini had him become his assistant director for the film Accattone. The same thing happened to Vincenzo Cerami, a former middle school student of Pasolini's, who was introduced to the world of film with Uccellacci e uccellini (The Hawks and the Sparrows). Sergio Citti, on the other hand, was a house painter when Pasolini saw in him the ideal face to recount Rome's working class suburbs. Like a diviner, Pasolini could unearth talent where others couldn't even sense it. The same thing happened with Laura Betti, Dante Ferretti, Danilo Donati, Ennio Morricone, and others. All important exponents of Italian cinema and culture, who owe a lot to their encounter with a poet, director, and intellectual who was endowed with a “new vision.”
