Declaration

film director

“It's strange how I feel at ease talking about uncomfortable things, but I have always been fascinated by family violence: how, in that place where you should feel protected, you can feel so scared. This theme emerged as I was writing the screenplay. I began with fame, with a person who can't manage to become famous and feels rejection for her daughter. This daughter feels she doesn't even have her mother's affection and constantly demands her attention. All this springs from frustration; these relationships don't arise from one day to the next. The interrupted relationships between parents and children have been dormant for a long time and you don't know what they originated from and this is why it's very hard to put an end to them. They drag on and one day something serious or a separation happens.”
