Declaration
film director
“The central question I want to explore in the film is: ‘Is there justice?’ I aim to tell a story that focuses on the aftermath of sexual abuse and the process of healing, a topic that is rarely discussed. I asked myself whether we as a society can even forgive a perpetrator after a sexual assault on children. On the other hand, I have dealt with the question of injustice and vigilantism. What happens when you can't forgive as a victim? Can we socially accept the revenge of a victim on his/her perpetrator and can a perpetrator be happier than the victim? In order to address these and other questions, I wanted our film to encourage viewers to think about the limits of law and their understanding of justice.”
