Eva, a mysterious woman who lives in the forest, sets a field of sunflowers on fire. Eva believes she has a mission and she talks like a preacher, a sort of Joan of Arc. She sees strange blue lights in the sky. Her case is associated with the mysterious disappearance of children that have been occurring in the area, even if the youngsters seem to gladly follow her around. Declaration

film director

“My movie is about faith, about the hope that we can change things. Even the past. It is a movie about the disasters in a world in deep distress, that puts human beings in situations that are so at the limit and painful that it can push them over the edge. A movie that, like my previous one, Buio, combines various genres, from family drama to thriller to sci-fi. Because, as we see more and more at the cinema, it is impossible to recount our time and its complexity without borrowing fragments of style and effective contents from various genres to recount the things we feel we must. Lastly, it is a movie about a rebellion. Crazy, absurd, in no way justifiable. But, since it is human, it is dictated by a devasting, perhaps comprehensible pain. I do not justify Eva and I do not forgive her. I’m only trying to understand her.”
