Declaration
film director
“As Israel’s genocidal war on Gaza continues, us Palestinians in occupied Palestine continue to live our lives as usual. We go on with our usual lives, as usual, we work, study, celebrate and go to plan parties, as if we neither see nor hear what is happening so close to us, from the slaughter of children and the starvation of people, to the killing of over 50,000 human beings. The colonial system dominates our minds, numbs us, and maintains calmness and submission. We are witnessing one of the most horrific genocidal wars in history, yet we behave as if it’s happening at a distance. We watch the corpses pile and the destruction spread, and still we carry on with our hollow, meaningless lives.”
