In a remote valley of the Pyrenees, where magic and ancient mysticism weave through daily life, seekers from around the world arrive to escape their pasts and seek rebirth through an occult-tinged faith. Among them is Richard Stanley, a once-celebrated filmmaker turned spiritual leader after a dramatic fall from Hollywood. When allegations of domestic abuse come to light, his admirers must confront reality. Is the region truly transformative, or have they been manipulated by a false prophet?

Declaration
film director
“Shadowland is about people who don’t feel at home in modern society and find refuge in a remote region in the South of France. While this magical world may seem strange and fantastic, the aspirations of these seekers are universal. We all seek that which would make us whole: for some, it’s success, for some, spirituality – but we must be careful about who we decide to follow. Shadowland is also the story of us as filmmakers. We fell in love with this place, we found adventures in it and we, too, were deceived.”
