Declaration
film director
“Butterfly navigates in the aftermath of unmet care needs, where break-ups and life lies, longing and jealousy, loneliness, sexual delusion, addiction and shame overgrow. But it is also a story about life-giving forces, mercy and transformation, and newfound hope born in community. A world in crisis is the backdrop for the story of the two sisters. However, what they discover when they are uprooted and must return to their childhood island is far more hands-on than the frightening apocalyptic news updates. What they see is interaction, will to life and community. And the possibility for new beginnings, maybe even together.”
